The Best Chocolate Cake Ever

We get it, everyone says their family recipe for chocolate cake is the best ever, and rightly so - the nostalgic taste of a recipe that has been in the family for years always hits the spot. 

In light of World Chocolate Cake Day, (yes, that's a thing!) we'd still love to share our chocolate cake recipe. Its the best chocolate cake we've tasted, and we'd love for you to give it a go and try it for yourself. 

Ingredients: 
1 cup plain flour
1 cup sugar
2 tbsp cocoa powder
2 eggs
splash milk
50g butter
2 tsp baking powder

Icing:
1 cup icing sugar
2 tbsp cocoa powder
50g butter
splash milk

Sift flour and cocoa powder into a large mixing bowl. In a 250ml cup, crack the eggs and fill to the 250ml mark with milk. Add the eggs, milk and butter to the mixing bowl and beat for 3 minutes. Add baking powder and mix. Bake at 180 degrees for 30 - 40 minutes. 

For the icing, beat all ingredients together until smooth. Once cake is removed from the oven and cool, ice the cake. We like to add Whittakers Chocolate and fresh berries to our cake to decorate.
